Corded MPG on an Acorn?

Post by krissondors »

Is it possible to use the encoder port on the Arcon and use a corded MPG? Or is the only option the wireless Centroid MPG?
Thanks!

sure..its the axis selector switch that hogs up a bunch of inputs..so yes you can do it, is it practical? not really.

AcornSix has three encoder ports so you can dedicate a hard wired MPG per axis on a lathe.

Thanks for the response! Hmmm okay, that makes sense. I haven't counted all the inputs required but I don't have many inputs used so I figured it wouldn't be an issue.

Thanks again!

On a slight tangent (not wanting to hijack this thread; sorry! :? ), is it possible to control all 6 axes using a Centroid wireless pendant? I'm considering using the A6 board for a Swiss lathe build.

You have to wait for the WMPG-6 for this.

Many thanks for the info!

Just realised you're the chap with the excellent YouTube AcornSix videos; excellent work you're doing there! I've been following with great interest!👍😁

We have wmpg-6 now! Just need to get it on the website. Ask diysales@centroidcnc.com and they will hook you up.

Thanks Keith! I've just had an email from Nancy with a link, and will be placing an order soon! :D

Question; which version of CNC12 should I use to run a 6-axis lathe?! (X, Y, Z, and Rotary for the main spindle, and a second Rotary and Z for a sub-spindle.)
