When input 7 ProbeTripped is configured for Input Type NO: I cannot toggle between fast/slow jog.
When I change it to Input Type NC, or put Input 7 to unused (so no probe configured): I can toggle between fast/slow jog.
Because I am still testing the total setup, I had set all the Inputs that were not yet connected to type NO. The probe is not yet connected.

this is because the CNC12 software has automatic Probe Jogging protection. it will only let you slow jog when the Probe input has been tripped.
this stops the user from Fast Jogging the Probe in the wrong direction and crashing it.
if you are not using a probe. set the probe inputs to "unused" in the wizard and you won't have this issue.

I have found the cause
When input 7 ProbeTripped is configured for Input Type NO: I cannot toggle between fast/slow jog.
When I change it to Input Type NC, or put Input 7 to unused (so no probe configured): I can toggle between fast/slow jog.
Because I am still testing the total setup, I had set all the Inputs that were not yet connected to type NO. The probe is not yet connected.
Thanks for sharing what the issue was! I'll remember that one. Good advice from Keith to set those inputs to unused if they are not used...

I knew I did something wrong in the settings... I just set all unused inputs to unused.
Thanks for all the support.
Ah, but that is how WE (all of us on this forum) learn. Its by sharing our experiences, good and bad, problems and how they are solved. Hopefully your experience will help others.
Thank again!

Am I missing something with this? How does this help if you have a probe? Am I supposed to disable the probe inputs in CNC wizard before and after every use? I does not seem to make sense that probe tripped would disable fast/slow jog speed, why wouldn't probe detect do that? As it stands now when I enable probe tripped I can use my probe and change jog speeds or my jog speeds won't change and my probe is not detected. This does not matter if my probe is connected or not. I have input 6 and input 7 both NC going to COM.
If it makes any difference I am using the Acorn CNC with a Huang VFD and a Gecko G540 everything seems to be working like a champ except the probing thing.

I answered my own question, maybe this will help anyone else with my question.
My generic DIY probe is NC, so in CNC Wizard I set Input 6 as Probe detect (NC) and Input 7 as Probe Tripped (NO).
I then use a switch on input 6 that connects it to COM when I am going to use the probe.
I then just leave my probe connected (electrically) so I can always change my jog speed.
It's still not a perfect solution but I know if no probe detected then I just need to flip a switch.

You would normally connect the probe detect circuit when you plug it in. The jumper would be in the probe side connector. That way this is automatic. I believe it to be important because a set of safety features are implemented when the probe detect circuit is enabled.
Glad you sorted things out and shared the outcome to the group.

Thank you for the response but if that is the case then I still don't know what I am doing wrong. The fast/slow jog switch is usable when probe trigger is enabled not when probe detect is enabled. All probe detect is doing for me is at least is telling the CNC12 program I have a probe connected.
This is a probe I built, it does work but I am way too cheap to drop the cash for a nice one so I am unaware of any internal switches or jumpers that professional probes may have.
