M15-10 Parts Wanted
Hi,
I have a M15-10 SN# 4812A that I am trying to keep alive. It has a problem with the board that interfaces with the limit switches, but is otherwise working ok. Does anyone have any retired M15 controls out there for parts?
Thanks!
Tom

Re: M15-10 Parts Wanted
No luck so far. I would be happy to just find a servo amplifier board if anyone has one.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: M15-10 Parts Wanted
We have some used M15DRV (the servo amplifier/PLC board mounted to the lid of the console) in stock. What revision is yours? I'll see if we have one that'll work for you.
It should say on the top side of the board near one of the corners.

Re: M15-10 Parts Wanted
I found some of the same REV, I'll need to test them first since they've been sitting a while.

Re: M15-10 Parts Wanted
Hi Tom,
I have one that is functioning and on the last stage of testing. I should be able to hand it off to shipping by the end of the day.
Sorry for the delay,
August

Re: M15-10 Parts Wanted
Many times we see threads with no final resolution, so I wanted to take a minute to finish this one off.
I received a remanufactured servo amplifier board from Centroid on Friday and I had the time to install it over the weekend. Unfortunately the limit switch tripping was not caused by the board, but after further investigation, I was able to locate a deformed terminal in the limit switch connector, on the common wire. This is why any or all of the axis would randomly trip. The problem went away as soon as I corrected the connection.
I was also having trouble with with spindle drive dropout either randomly or when the coolant was turned either off or on. The replacement servo amplifier board completely solved this problem so now my mill is up and running perfectly.
My local dealer has been working on the limit switch problem off and on for several years, and has put a lot of effort into it over the past year, to no avail. He told me that Centroid has no part, and does not support this control any longer, and that they will only discuss a replacement control system. He and his crew have spent a lot of time repairing my circuit board, replacing many external components and wiring to the tune of several thousand dollars. He gave it his best effort but in the end was unable to correct my problems.
Only when he threw his hands up and said he could not fix my control did I reach out to Centroid myself. To my surprise, parts and support are available and givin willingly! August and Chelsea were quite helpful and helped me fix my problem on the first try.
In closing, I'd like to thank Chelsea, August and Centroid for helping me keep this old mill running, and I'd encourage any legacy Centroid owners to at least give Centroid a chance. I know not every case will be solved, but it's always worth a try.
Have a great day,
Tom
