24DC needs only a diode on the coil, but I use SSR without coils.

Recently CNC4PC developed a motherboard that plugs directly into the Acorn DB25 and uses very similar stepper drivers as the G540. So you don't pay for the IO on the G540 that you don't use.

Inquiring minds would like to know. I have several G250X drives just lounging in a box.martyscncgarage wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 8:32 am CNC4PC developed a motherboard that plugs directly into the Acorn DB25 and uses very similar stepper drivers as the G540. I made my own. I put a .1uF capacitor in series with a 100 Ohm resistor.Black Forest wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 8:22 amWhere did you buy your snubbers for 24v contactors Mr. Suntravel?

This is why I was asking about connecting snubbers to the relays.

Any coil or inductive device connected to relay contacts (either Acorn relays or external relays) must have a snubber to prevent arcing and destruction of the relay contacts. Snubbers should be placed as close to the inductive device as possible.
This is why I was asking about connecting snubbers to the relays.
