Hello all,
after updating to the newest acorn version I have bigger issues with the treading.
The machine cut the thread, it seems that the turn per mm are not well calculated. I never have this problem before.
I restore the old report and everything works well, but not the thread cycle.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your reply and help.

Re: threading issues after update
Do not restore an report from an old version.
4.80 installed fresh threads perfect.

Re: threading issues after update
hello. the old report shows v4.5 . Typically 'restore report' is only recommended to be used with one version back (i.e. v4.6x to V4.8x) v4.5 to v4.8 is actually a big jump alot of features have been added and updated. so it is best to do a fresh install of v4.8. to do this...
rename the old v4.5 cnct directory to 'cnct'
start v4.5
open the wizard
make screen shots of all the Wizard pages and save them in a folder on the desktop
now follow the fresh install instructions for v4.8
open the v4.8 Wizard and hand enter in the values from the v.4.5 screen shots.
press "Write Settings to CNC control" and follow instructions on the screen.

Re: threading issues after update
Hello,
thank you for the reply!
I have done a completely new installation without using a report. But without any success, the thread flanks thread is cut away over every depth cycle.
I don’t know whats going wrong, I never had this problem before.
Some ideas?
Thanks in advance for your support!

Re: threading issues after update
Sounds like a problem with the encoder or z-axis.

Hello,
any idea how I can check the correct function of the encoder?
The Z axis work well during a normal lathe application.
Thanks in advance!

Re: threading issues after update
in the PID screen check the encoder counts per rev, and look for the marker pulse to show up as and asterisk beside the encoder reading. note you have to turn spindle real slow to catch this.

Re: threading issues after update
Hello,
I found the reason., the encoder counts the ppr only during low speed correctly.
In high-speed mode the encoder counts wrong. Changing the encoder everything works well.
Thanks for your support.
