I am converting a PM833 to CNC. Both my X and Y axis are directly driven by the steppers. The ball screws have 5 TPI so I entered 5 into the Wizzard in the axis configuration section for "Overall Turns Ratio".
My Z axis is belt driven with an 18t gear on the stepper and 14t gear on the Z-axis ball screw. The ball screw has 5 TPI. If I am understanding this correctly, then the Overall Turns Ratio for the Z axis would be (14/18) x 5 = 3.889 turns per inch.
Is this correct?

correct, but for Z I would swap the gears for more torque.

Thanks Uwe! There are gas struts on the Z-axis so it is almost weightless. I will reverse the gears if I find the need to increase torque.
