Re: Analog spindle signal
I take it the two caps and resistor are similar to the attached lower circuit diagram? And thanks Nigel.

Re: Analog spindle signal
All you need is a single 0.1uF non-polar capacitor across the two pins of H8.
Cheers,
Tom

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Re: Analog spindle signal
Agreed, don’t over complicate things, just add a single cap. Then look at grounding the shielded wire.

Re: Analog spindle signal
yes, the lower diagram worked best for me.

Re: Analog spindle signal
just put the cap across the Vout and COM (COM should be GND) on the driver side. You dont need a resistor because the wires will have enough impedance on their own unless really short. Also, we dont need a ton of filtering here unless your enclosure is exceptionally noisy

Re: Analog spindle signal
What kind of cable are you all using as twisted-pair-cable?
The only shielded, twisted pair-cables i know are ethernet-cabbles?

but you can get thicker gauge twisted pair shielded cable by the foot from places like automationdirect

Re: Analog spindle signal
If you are talking about VFD cabling, I used automation direct: Southwire VFD cable, 4 conductors (includes ground), 16 AWG, cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) conductor insulation material, overall foil and braid shielded, TPE jacket,

Re: Analog spindle signal
Ah, that did it, Helukabel is a german manufacturer, so I could just switch to the german homepage and find out how that cables are described here in germany.
Thank you very much!
