Hi
Has anyone used a pneumatic solenoid they found to be especially well suited for their pneumatic chucks? i'm at the stage i need to start putting a list together of parts for this and there are so many to choose from.
Thanks
Tom

Re: Pneumatic solenoid for pneumatic chuck
Hi Tom
if this is a Leader pneumatic chuck for your Mirac, I recently asked on the Denford site whether an illustrated parts guide exists for the Mirac, as it does for most of Denford's other machines, but, unfortunately, the answer seems to be no. However, I did find a parts document for the Cyclone lathe, which is mechanically larger but similar to the Mirac and which was fitted with aslightly larger 5" Leader power chuck. This drawing from the document may be of use to you , although not all numbered parts were identified in the rest of the document

Re: Pneumatic solenoid for pneumatic chuck
Hi Kevin, hope you are doing well.
Thank you for posting that, this will be for the MIRAC. I don't currently have a pneumatic chuck but will be ordering one this month, i'm looking at the dead length 5C ones.
Do Denfords part numbers correspond to a manufacturer part number anywhere in the document? it would be interesting to see what brands/specific parts they were using.

Not all parts are identified but it is a good starting point

Re: Pneumatic solenoid for pneumatic chuck
Chucks don't use a lot of air so just about any FRL unit and 5-way valve should work fine.

Re: Pneumatic solenoid for pneumatic chuck
I did see your questions on the Denford forum, i would like to know the answers also, especially the lubrication of the headstock. I'm not sure if this for sale thread is any use to you but it does show the back of a complete leader chuck.
