Re: Exceeding travel
That is the X diameter used to determine the tool offset. It will remain the last diameter you entered until you change it.
CNC12 does not save the diameter used to determine each offset, only the offset itself.

Re: Exceeding travel
Guys, 5 pages of input and I'm still having issues with my cut-off tool exceeding travel. I have not resolved it yet. Any insight as to what I need to be looking for to self-diagnose and resolve this on my own. I read through the thread again and Im still unsure how to troubleshoot it on my own. I looked at my current report for the 1st time since learning all this and am not sure what to be looking for.
Input welcome, thanks.

Re: Exceeding travel
At this point I would resummarize the issue you have with fresh information

Re: Exceeding travel
This is getting really frustrating, been working on this for days, every time I use tool 9 i get the exceed error. What am I missing here? What im i doing wrong? I've verified all 3 tools' range of movement from WCS 0,0 and they all check out within the work envelope and zero out at part X,0 and Face of stock Z,0. See handwritten notes.
Exceed error is on line 82
Please note don't pay too much attention to my setting coming out of Fusion such as f&S machining ops ect just look at the exceed errors.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GO OVER MY MACHINE SETTING IN WIZARD IS MY MACHINE SET UP CORRECTLY?

Re: Exceeding travel
Value tool offset 0909 23.6309 plus G0 X1.175 Z0.1969 T0909 is more than x+24.1759 shown at home position.

Re: Exceeding travel
i would start by remeasuring the actual mechanical travel of the machine..... to do this.
set Z travel limits to zero. reboot.
home the machine.
now while still at machine home position (not WCS 0.0000) press <Alt D> to switch the DRO into machine coordinates, it should read x0.000,z0.000
now jog the machine to the extreme other end as far as the Z axis can go. what is the value on displayed on the DRO for Z?

Re: Exceeding travel
Im trying to wrap my head around what you're saying but I don't get it. Gone over it and over it trying to make sense of it. What is the 1.175 in X you're adding to the tool offset? I could see if you're adding the stock radius but that's not it because its .375 Di stock so what is the 1.175?. AND why are you even mentioning the Z value? How does that even come into play? Can you please explain?

"set Z travel limits to zero"
Would this be my software limit all the way to the left in -Z next to the chuck? In other words, I go all the way left zero out then reboot, and measure travel distance?
Re: Exceeding travel
1.175 is the X diameter on line 82 of your program, where you said the error was reported.
That line of the program turns on offsets (T0909) and tries to move the tool tip to X1.175 Z0.1969.
Try activating the offsets in MDI ("T0909"), then jogging the axes until the X axis on the DRO reads 1.175.
If you are trying to part off 0.375" stock, maybe you could start with the cutoff tool at a closer clearance than 1.175".
