I am attempting to help a couple of users and felt in working through this, it would be useful to others who are using the C86ACORNR3 and C34 Drive interface board from CNC4PC.Com

I do have a motor turning on the bench. Here are some photos of the jumper settings I used to get this far:

Do give feedback. I agree, it is a bit of fussing, but it is working.
Let us know how it goes, take a few pictures and post if needed.
Do make sure you are starting with BENCHTEST HEADER and 100K sec.
Set it up as I did in the video.

OK Marty I tried it exactly like you showed. My C34s are newer and have a few more jumpers but I matched yours and my drivers and motors are different. I set the pulse/rev at 8000 also. I also used the bench test screw terminal and set inputs and outputs just like yours.
I am getting a 9031 drive fault error.

NOTE: I did connect the motors/drivers without the C86 board and it runs just fine. Once I add the C86 and the C34s and setup is where it gives 9031 drive fault error?? Also the RJ45 cable is a 568B cable type.

Is your drive ok or does it have a fault LED flashing?
If drive is OK move the drive fault wire to the NC contact of the relay on C86..
You can also try removing Drive ok from the inputs temporarily.

The alarm options between C34 and C86 are a bit confusing.

Is the green led on above the fault relay?

There was No fault light on driver flashing
I will try moving drive fault wire to NC contact in C86 tomorrow
The green LED was on above fault relay until drive faults. I will reverify tomorrow.
I will follow up on the above tomorrow and post results here.

Joe,
Please try:
- Disconnect the DRIVE _OK signal going into the ACORN and just set a jumper for now, so that CNC12 does not see the fault signal coming from the C86.
- If the C86 continues to fault, confirm the driver itself is not faulting. You may need to check the encoder wiring or invert the A and B coils for the motors.
- If the drive is not faulting, but the C86 still sees a fault signal coming from the drive, then check: Try inverting the jumper for the active high/low for the fault signal. Set the jumper on HARD Enable. If the problem continues after that, play with the potentiometer to adjust the fault signal.
Try that and let me know how it goes.

OK guys
1. I tried all above with no luck.
2. I returned it all to normal terminations. see pic below
3. Motor/driver runs fine now. JUST TO VERIFY encoder and motor cables working....
4. I am going to restart again and install C86 and C34 and try again following above

I am awaiting a new C86Acorn board and latest C34 to test with.
At some point you just have to plow forward with your build. I don't have your drives, but can't imagine they are all that different, they are all Leadshine clones and wire similarly. Keep us posted. Arturo is trying to help.

OK guys I figured most of it out tonight. Being a novice with Acorn Config did not help.
1. I am using CNC12 Lathe
2. **** When you go into CNC Wizard it is important to note what Axis is assigned to what letter **** that was main issue
3. See my axis config pic below. It will NOT allow me to change Axis 1 to anything it defaults to Z axis


4. Axis 2 defaults to X axis. It will not allow me to change the Axis to another axis.
5. Look at C86 board drive letter designations. See my pic below
6. Look at terminal labels on Acorn board. See my pic below. from right to left terminal Set1, then Set2, then Set3, then Set 4.

I feel foolish on this one...On my setup I had everything setup and was just reading the Axis letters on C86 and connecting CAT6 cables to the corresponding Axis letter and NOT considering Axis Config in relation to the terminal connections vertically up to ethernet ports. Of course this will cause faults because it was checking the Axis 1 and Axis 2 (terminal Sets 1 & 2).

7. It works now but it faults after a few seconds with a jog on X or Z axis. The only way it will stay running is if I lift the fault relay off of input5. I tried adjusting the resistor pot on the C34s. All the way counterclockwise is the best.
I am now stuck on item 7 above but things are moving.
