How can I create work offsets or work stations?
Howdy,
How can I create offsets? Is WCS the equivalent in Centroid language to offsets in Mach3? Any direction to find in any pdf or video would be appreciated. I would like to have different stations in my CNC - my mill turning axis and a second one for my A rotary axis.
I have 2 stations in my CNC - one to turn wood round and taper pool cue shafts and the other one is a rotary that I use for engraving and creating pockets for inlays.
I do have a second CNC that does a lot of the turning but does not have an Acorn board.
The work offsets in Mach 3 it is used to memorize positions of the CNC table and recall them quickly.
How can that be done with Acorn CNC Controller software?

Section 4.3 in the mill user's manual details the setup of Work Coordinate Systems.
Cheers,

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Virtually the same as Mach does it. G54,55,56,57,58.... 18 of them.

So, once you get to the area you want to setup how do you zero it? Or do you have to type the coordinates? Sorry I am bit confused how to go about getting it done.

Alt 1 (G54), Alt 2 (G55), Alt 3 (G56) and so on. G54, leave as machine home, drive it to your desired location and hit Alt 2 (G55) and then use the VCP button to set XY and set Z zero (if desired). From there on, that is where G55 will be. If you have a pendant, you can also use that set zero for each axis with the dial and button.
If you need to tweak the location values, you can go to "Setup >> Part >> WCS Table >> Origin" and edit/save all offsets.

Re: How can I create work offsets or work stations?
Dumb question... How do I make it move to G55, G56, etc? I tried in MDI just typing G55 and Cycle Start and didn't work...Sword wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 3:12 pm Alt 1 (G54), Alt 2 (G55), Alt 3 (G56) and so on. G55. > Cycle start
GoTo WCS XY0 >> cycle start
GoTo WCS XY0 >> cycle start

Re: How can I create work offsets or work stations?
Hello Gary,
I am not sure if I did something wrong but it didn't work.
Went to MDI:
Typed G55 then hit cycle start
In MDI again typed GoTo WCS XY0 then hit cycle start and got the Missing parameter error.
I have attached some screenshots.

Re: How can I create work offsets or work stations?
"GOTO WCS" means select the WCS you want by hitting alt-1 for WCS #1, alt-2 for WCS #2, etc., and then MDI "X0Y0" and hit cycle start.
Neither of these methods (nor MDI) will work until the machine is homed.
