Can I edit the cncm.hom file, or does it get overwritten by future homing cycles?

Yes you can, and not unless you change/write the homing config settings in the Wizard. Once you have it edited the way you want, save a backup of it for when a CNC12 update is installed.

Since this is the Oak/Allin1DC/MPU11 section, you don't need to worry about the Wizard overwriting things.

CNC12 updates do not install a different cncm.hom file either.
