Re: Touch Screen Monitors
Use them all the time on lathes and small machines. My fat fingers have learned not to lock motion

Gary was not sure if you were answering to my question on the Asus VT168H 15.6?Gary Campbell wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 10:12 pm Use them all the time on lathes and small machines. My fat fingers have learned not to lock motion

Re: Touch Screen Monitors
I have used that monitor early on. The capacitive consumer grade monitors can be a little touchy. Water dust etc, but they work ok. Resistive one touch monitors are better.BillB wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 6:37 amGary was not sure if you were answering to my question on the Asus VT168H 15.6?Gary Campbell wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 10:12 pm Use them all the time on lathes and small machines. Re: Touch Screen Monitors
I've been using one of the Asus VT168H's for a few years now and it's been working well. Had it on my larger production machine for a while and after getting a larger one for it, I put it on a smaller bench top setup with a monitor arm. Again, it looks good and works well, just the VCP buttons are smaller, but that's not a big issue for the situation.

Re: Touch Screen Monitors
Bill...
Yes I was answering your question.
And to add to what Marty says, yes, the resistive are better because they are single touch. That said, if when holding a jog arrow, don't let your finger "roll" and it won't lock on axis motion. If it does, tap the arrow to stop

Re: Touch Screen Monitors
Still on the fence about the monitor.
So let me ask you guys this regarding this Asus VT168H 15.6. the fact that it is not 1080 x 1920, does It make the overall size of the buttons really small and hard to use, do they feel too crowded?
The portable monitors I was looking at were 1080 x 1920 So my question is how does it compare to the Asus VT168H 15.6 at 1366 x 768

Re: Touch Screen Monitors
It works. You say you have to go small, you're going to give up size.

Re: Touch Screen Monitors
It works just fine, unless if you have really fat fingers or are trying to read it from a distance. You can double size buttons like cycle start and cancel to make them easier to hit. Standard button size is approximately 12mm. I always use it with the taskbar set for auto hide (mouse or drag up to raise the taskbar).
