I was very careful to unsure it was a shielded cat8 cable.

Re: Jog button in VCP sticks on
To chime in
I too have the same jog problem and I have the same symptoms with regard to the error codes with communication. I did change my shielded cable to a brand new shielded cat 8 cable to try to resolve and same issue with com errors.
I recently did the upgrade from v4.18 to current v4.64 and the problem didn't occur until after this version upgrade, so I will attempt a fresh install and report back

Re: Jog button in VCP sticks on
I have made the communication problem much better with the new shorter cat 8 cable but occasionally still see an error in the report.
I have moved on to other issues for now hoping others may have some idea of what to try next.
I am using the Shuttlexpress to control close in movements for now because I don't trust the issue to be resolved. Rotating the center knob in incremental mode does not stick on.
I have purchased a new 7.5kw inverter and braking resister To get faster spindle braking at higher rpm, The 4kw HuanYang unit would not Brake this 2.2kw motor very well and I am testing to see if higher amperage vfd has better braking performance without overheating motor windings.
I know that's off topic and I will return to testing when I have more time.

Re: Jog button in VCP sticks on
Well
I reverted back to v4.18 today and it is perfect, no communication errors in the log after using the mill all day. More importantly no sticky jog buttons in the vcp.
So this means that in my case at least its software version related, either the upgrade to v4.64 itself or how i performed the upgrade.
Food for thought.

What make and model PC? New shielded Ethernet cable?
What have you tried to do to remedy the issue?

Re: Jog button in VCP sticks on
Attached is the report
I have tried a new shielded cable, new pc and tried with the servo drives powered down in case of interference.
