Is it safe to update CNC12?

I see there is a version 4.20 CNC12 software available now. I am on 4.18. Is it safe to just install the new version to update? I don't want it to overwrite my customised files or break my software license!

I did it about 6 weeks ago. Back up your cncm directory and make a fresh report.
I did a restore report after the install and all was fine.
