Thanks... already ordered one so I’ll try it.. I have also ground both ends of that shielded cable but that didn’t help.

Unground both end.LenelyWolf wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 1:47 pmThanks... already ordered one so I’ll try it.. I have also ground both ends of that shielded cable but that didn’t help.
Also try just a pair of 18gauge wires. You have nothing to lose while you are waiting for the cap

Re: Unstabe rpm with Lenze drive
Ok so this helped. I have ungrounded both ends and it was better but not perfect. Then I replaced cable for 18awg and now it runs nice and stable. Thank you. I really appreciate your help. Can you also explain why making it better actually made it worst.. I don’t get itmartyscncgarage wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 1:50 pmUnground both end.LenelyWolf wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 1:47 pmThanks... already ordered one so I’ll try it.. Re: Unstabe rpm with Lenze drive
I suspect the larger wire added a bit of capacitance.
I can't explain it really. But glad it helped you.

Re: Unstabe rpm with Lenze drive
Sounds like you had a bad wire. Maybe the wire had some corrosion and was not making a good connection.
(.5mm) 24 awg is a bit small and delicate. The added capacitance from increasing the size is trivial.

Re: Unstabe rpm with Lenze drive
I have inspected the cable by taking it apart and didn’t see any visible damage. Well at least it is fixed. Should I still install that capacitor?polaraligned wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 6:12 pm Sounds like you had a bad wire. Maybe the wire had some corrosion and was not making a good connection.

I wouldn't bother.LenelyWolf wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 6:33 pm I have inspected the cable by taking it apart and didn’t see any visible damage. Well at least it is fixed. Should I still install that capacitor?

It shouldn't hurt either. Acorn does not have the same spindle analog circuitry that Oak and All in One do.
