retro fit Laguna/RichAuto

Post by dweber »

I have a Laguna cnc with hand held controls that I dislike and I want to get to a computer controls again. I know there are a couple other threads about this but I felt there was information that didn't answer all my question. I will give you the information I have and any suggestion you have I will greatly appreciate.
Laguna IQ cnc router 24" x 36" work bed.
3HP Industrial Induction Spindle, liquid cooled, 220V / 30 amp single phase. RPM 6000 - 24000.
Ball Screw all axis.
Leadshine microstep Driver M542-05
Oriental stepping motor type 57BYGH311D-12. (all axis)
Genke BLE17-5F-N1/E Limit switches.

I have been using S14976.DWG wiring diagram.
I will be working on the stepper motors first and this is what I have come up with so far. .
PUL- form the drivers to H2 acorn board to connection ST1. This would follow each stepper motor and continue into H3 acorn board.
DIR- form the drivers to H2 acorn board to connection DR1 This would follow each stepper motor and continue into H3 acorn board.
Because I don't find 5v on the acorn board I would run a jumper wire from the power supply to PUL+ and DIR+.
This process would be for each axis.
I know the wiring diagram doesn't show going to the H2 and H3 but I think that is simpler.
I will work on limit switches next, but I would accept any suggestion if there is a better way of doing this.
This is a ink to my pictures in google. https://photos.google.com/album/AF1QipN ... w5U1Zz3V5I
Thank you in advance for your help.

don't know what the problem could be. rechecked the settings a dozen times. I will try to repost the link and see if that works.

If this doesn't work I guess I will give up. Thanks for your time.

Should be no problem getting that conversion done. Standard Leadshine motors.
