All In One bench test

Post by Beagle Beagle »

Got a small problem. I'm doing the spindle voltage part of the bench test. When I hit alt-S for S500 I get a reading of 3.35 DCV. When I input it and continue I get an error message Invalid voltage. I checked and the max spindle speed is set at 3000rpm. What am I doing wrong here. Thanks Bob L
Bridgeport V2XT, All In One DC #A900779. Using existing SEM motors 112 Volt. Spindle to be controlled by Lenze AC Tech VFD mod #ESV222N02YXB. Machine is being run on 208 3Phase power.

Is your spindle connected to the Acorn at this point?
Cheers,

Tom
Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Tom, I have an All In One. The spindle encoder is attached to the board but I have not run any wires to the VFD. Bob

Are you using a quality Voltmeter? Picture of your setup?
You haven't changed the max RPM from 3000 have you?

Marty, As I stated. The max RPM is set to 3000. I'm using a Fluke 27. One of the best you could buy at one time.

Wired and in the cabinet does not qualify for a "bench test" ;)
Are you connecting your voltmeter DIRECTLY to the analog out connector with no other wires connected (like to a VFD)

Are you sure you have it set to 0-10 and not -10 to +10?

Edit to add:
Thought over this and -10 to 10 wouldn't make sense either but you should check the dip switches anyway.

Leave the spindle bench test. In MDI, type M3 S0. what voltages do you get? Try M3 S3000 and M3 S1500. What voltages do you get?

Here is my AIO DC Bench test video. At about 31:00 I show the leads connected to All in One DC Spindle analog output:

That is exactly what I have and I will repeat my self. I have no wires to the VFD. And yes I've read the instructions and I've watched the video. This is not going to solve this problem. Go up and read my post first! Josh, the white screen that says this machine is not ready for operation won't let me into MDI or at least I tried and failed. Bob
