HI Everyone here,
Just starting my journey of retrofitting our HAAS VF-1 in hope of all the support I can get from you guys.
Our Haas VF-1 1994 model, I started to have issue with servo drives.
After researching and learning a lot of info from this forum and Martycncgarage youtube channel decided to upgrade the CNC controls to go with Allin1DC. I have basic electrical knowledge and feel competent enough to do the job.
This week I have received my delivery from Centroid.
1:Allin1DC for pro and ultimate servo
2:Mill Pro for Allin1dc
3:ATC Support Plugin
4:Assembly Cap Board low Hi Voltage DC wcap 180vdc
5: PLCADD1616: PLC Expansion Card (16 inputs & 16 relay outputs)
Machine is still fully assembled, I have started to label all inputs and outputs.
I am keeping the HAAS dc servo motors and 2000line encoders, transformer, original wiring loom, VFD and any contactors which can be re-use.
My 1st request:
while testing the servo motors (according to TB155) and planning the wiring I noticed 2 x Yellow wire next the power input for DC servos, I believe both of are for the brake resistor.
I have the centroid wiring schematics but cant find a home for these wires.
I taught best to ask before I connect them to the brake resistor.
Electrocraft Brushed DC servo Motors E728.
Thanking you in advance,
Manni

More than likely, those yellow wires are for a temperature sensor (embedded in the motor windings) that would open if the motor overheated. Under normal circumstances, you would have continuity between the two yellow wires. You could wire them in series with your E-stop circuit if you wanted.
