I have installed an Oak board on a CNC lathe. Everything works correctly, except the X-axis jog buttons (i.e. the cutting tool) are reversed. The X encoder readout is spatially correct, and MDI commands to the X axis move in the correct direction, but the jog buttons are backwards. I am already using "reverse direction" on the X axis, however, this reverses the behavior of the axis entirely (i.e. it reverses the jog buttons, the encoder readout, and the movement direction of MDI commands). What I need is to change the behavior of only the jog buttons only, and keep all other axis behavior the same.
Is there a simple setting to fix this?

Look up Machine Parameter 1 in the Lathe operator's manual.
Typically, with front-mounted tooling, you set Parameter 1 = 3. With rear-mounted tooling, you set Parameter 1 = 0.
