Yes you can use a separate PSU, but it is unlikely that your proximity switches will work properly in series as shown in your last schematic

Question - If I setup my Acorn to run software pairing (master/slave motors) on the long axis that moves the gantry, can I manually enter a squaring offset to the software if I find the gantry is slightly out of square and can measure the difference?
No. You will have to setup a second switch and follow EXACTLY the methods shown here: (or write your own macros)

That's right thanks! Yes I will be wiring for NPN with the two prox sensors. And getting creative as I'm going to add a 24v manual home switch so my Z-axis pulls all the way up and away from the scrap board while homing to the machine.

I've been trying my best to digest that document for a few days now. In the last paragraph on page two, by "Operator manually squares the gantry axis", is this to say that the user drives the slave motor in CNC12 manually to the offset that squares the gantry? Then home.

In other news, my gantry is out of square by 0.25" so I'll be needing to address that before proceeding.

The problem I'm running into now is that I've just found out that in the Wizard you can only enable a single Output to drive NoFaultOut. My wiring plan had relied on being able to set multiple outputs to NoFaultOut. Is my only option now to have a single rely control another rely breakout board? Or is there a way to modify the PLC source to assign outputs to the same function?

Yes, use the output 1 relay to drive a relay with the required number of contacts.
Yes, you need to try and get that .25" out of square better mechanically.

Oh man, I'll have to find the space in my control box. I've read in a few places that output 7 and 8 should control 2 relays each. Mine system doesn't seem to be operating in that fashion when I set either to NoFaultOut. Does it require a specific board version for this function? I'm on V1.1 with my 8 channel relay.

I don't know what you mean by V1.1
There was a version previous to the current version that would do as you suggest.
Picture please?

I don't think you said what you wanted to run through the Estop relay. Typically its drive power, VFD common.

I was hoping to run NoFaultOut through 2 different relays and then through the estop, one of which would cut my VFD contactor, the other for the Clearpath PSU contactor.

The C86ACCP from CNC4PC also requires a NoFaultOut signal in an ideal case. So that's 3 signals total I was hoping to drive nofault to

You have the newest Centroid Hardware. Each relay is controlled individually by an output.
Estop button would have two NC contact blocks. One pair to COM and Acorn Input for Estop.
The other contact block is in series with the NoFaultOut relay then to the coil of the stop contactor coil and its power supply.
Sounds to me a small 2 or 3 pole control relay would work fine.

From Automationdirect.com
3 pole Ice Cube Relay:

4pole Ice Cube Relay:

You will have to buy the respective base for them from Automationdirect.com Listed at the bottom of each relay page.

Just suggestions....
