I have been very fortunate to be able to unplug my DB25 cable from my old PC running Mach3 and plug it into the Acorn board. Not much more to the story although I do include a link describing my existing hardware including stepper drivers, eStop circuit, and various improvements to the RF-30 so it would operate well with the original lead screws.
Most of this article deals with the enclosure I built for the Acorn board and its power supply. As I continue this journey, more articles will be offered.

Rick,
Great to hear that you are making use of the backward compatibility features that we baked into the Acorn and the CNC12/Wizard Software.
and thanks for taking the time to create and post the PDF i'm sure it will be appreciated by others with similar equipment.
Looking forward to seeing video of the machine in action! -Keith
