Re: Emco Pc turn 50
Hello !
So, now axis motors are OK, home limits too, and after 4 hours, my VFD ATV12 is ok too ! All move, no problems, it's perfect !
Now i work on turret, and i'm waiting for spindle encoder (1 month) to finish !
@martyscncgarage, your youtube vids and advices are great, so many thanks for them.
For my milling machine, I have a NVEM breakout board, it's a nightmare with it, centroid is so simple to configure... I think I will buy other acorn BOB for it.

Hello again
So it was my bad, relay wiring correctly, but power source was too weak to active it. No problems now with relay, when Led is green, turret rotate, when red, rotate backwards against the pawl and stop. I follow emco original schematic for relay, not acorn one.

Gordon, if you were the one that asked me about this on the Emco CNC Users Groups.IO forumGordon1234 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 8:32 am Hello again

Your turret sensors are running at +5VDC and Acorn input logic is at 24VDC. Disconnect those sensors from Acorn.
(You mentioned Tool1 is working but the "Counter" is not, it now may be damaged but repairable)
You could use a couple of these: HiLetgo 2pcs 5V One Channel Relay Module Relay Switch with OPTO Isolation High Low Level Trigger
by HiLetgo
Learn more:
PLEASE post a good high resolution picture of the sensors on your turret. See if there is any writing on them, or if there is a PC board, take a good high resolution photo of the board the optical sensors are on.
As for the motor wiring, I am still a little concerned that the motor is operating at 12VDC forward and Reverse. But perhaps Emco specified the motor to work that way. Feel the motor after a bit to see if its hot from being stalled at 12VDC against the pawl.

Yep it's me on emco groups.
Here is pictures of sensors and board. 2 sensors are same markings.
Motor not hot after a bit, but not very comfortable with this system... If Emco use it, I think there is no problems...
Edit : sensors disconnetced when you say to me.

Hello !
I have the 2 5V relay !
And for sensors, I have 2nd board (original spindle sensors), it's the same except 2 resistors (not sure about english word). On left turret board, on right spindle board.
I have my daughter today, so wiring next week.

Hello !
Today I work on my lathe, and I don't know how wiring theses channel module relay switches. Any idea ?

Re: Emco Pc turn 50
You can't use those optical sensors with Acorn. Use a 5Vdc 1000 line, line driver/differential encoder on the spindle.
You can see what I did on a recent video of a PC 5 conversion:

Re: Emco Pc turn 50
Of course for spindle I have an encoder, just waiting for pulleys to mount it.
It's for turret, how wiring Relay Module Relay Switch with OPTO Isolation High Low Level Trigger you say few weeks ago, with optical sensors for turret.
I'm note sure about wiring, and google dont help me for this.

Do you have the optical sensors wired to the relays and relays working?Gordon1234 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 10:29 am Of course for spindle I have an encoder, just waiting for pulleys to mount it.
