Desk top Computer Bios Settings

Sirs, I have CNC7 System and a DCIO3B, Serial #A50171, that is running on a desk top pc. The pc will not restart after I shut it down 3 days ago, I have purchased a computer that is as close as I can find to what the previous one was. I have insatalled the Centroid card and it powers up to a point. It seems to reconise that the Lenox is there but will not finish booting up. I am asuming that the bios settings are not right. I have the TB114 Bios settings, but, I do not see any thing that exactly matches my motherboard.
Old Computer is Compaq Presario SR1810Nx, motherboard is MSI MS-7184, processer is AMD Sempron.
New Computer is Compaq Presario SR1834Nx, motherboard is Asus A8AE-LE, processer is AMD Athalon.
They seem to be real close on the attached spec sheet. I am attaching screen pictures of the start up where it stops loading up. It shows a root error. I am also attaching pictures of the Bios screens. Attaching a fairly recent previous system report.
At this point I am not sure what to do. I am really hoping that with the new computer that the USB ports will work. They didnt work on the previous computer and loading from the flopy has caused me problems when loading larger programs on this machine.

Try changing "SATA Adapter" to "Disabled".

THANK YOU!!! Up and running again. For those of you who may be new here. I started the computer replacement about noon today. I was away for several hours and when I got back, these guys had the answer for me. I made the change and the computer powered right up. I homed the machine and the program I was running is still up and ready to go. I pushed start and have started running parts again, 6 hours later. Did not have re-zero or even reload the program. Thank you again!

Sir, Is there a setting for the USB Ports to activate them or how do I get the Centroid to reconize them?

What CNC10 software version are you running?

What are you trying to do with the USB ports? Connect a keyboard? Connect a mouse? Read files from a thumb drive?

Sir,
CNC 10 v1.51 is the software revision. I am wanting to save files and down load files with a thumb drive. I have another Bridgeport mill with a M39S Control that is running V2.64 that is 3 years older than this one and it has working USB ports.
Both machines will run the same programs. I dont want to have to put a floppy drive in this newer computer, If I can get the USB to work. I have had problems in the past getting the longer programs to load sucesfully in this machine from the floppy disc.

Try using a SanDisk Cruzer thumb drive, preferably as small and old as you can find.

Alternately, for $495 I will provide a replacement compact flash adapter and a compact flash card with Linux and CNC10 v2.72. That will have support for a broader range of USB drives (comparable to, or better than, what you have with v2.64 on the other machine).

I have a 2gb SanDisk Cruiser thumb drive. It works in the other v2.64 mill. I rerstarted the computer and put it in. It lights up, and the light brightend and dimmed. I went to load and seledted Floppy Drive (F1). When I select it I get a message that says, PATH Does Not Exist. After I posted this problem earlier today, I found an earlier post for CNC10 v1.21 that recomends doing a comand prompt (uninstall-floppy) and reboot. I have done that. Should I undo the uninstall-floppy? May be I just made it worse

A 2GB Cruzer should work. I have some that I have used with most versions of CNC10.

Running uninstall-floppy was probably a good step.

The effect of that is that the first USB drive mounted will show up as "a:".

Otherwise, with the floppy enabled, the first USB drive mounted will show up as "b:".

With a USB drive plugged in, you can get an indication of whether the Linux system has seen it, and automounted it, by listing the contents of the /cncroot directory. From a command prompt, enter:

(that is, in all lowercase letters, "LS -L /CNCROOT").
