Re: Motors not turning
Harry, do report back once you have it sorted. Mike gave you some good visuals of what you need to do...
His breakout board is laid out differently than others I have purchases so BE SURE you pay attention to the PIN numbers screened on the break out board and follow the DB25 pin out when connecting the Axis drives. Connect inputs and outputs to Acorn: Marty

Re: Motors not turning
Great info guys; Sorry for slow responce
Marty I have used db25 with different break out ,I have one but can't find it, I've used a PMDX 126 BOB with PmDX 134 connected directly on top of pins to 4 G203v at once, with motor block connected to top of PMDX134 , great wire saver only about $50 from PMDX . With PS 48 volt hookup w/ option for disable switch. I never used disable switch. I attached photo hope you all can see what i'm describing in the photo. The hard part for me is how the Pmdx134 uses com as 5vlt + or negative with the PmDX 126 It Connects through db26 flat ribbon cable, with switch jp4 on PMDX126. I wanted to try using PMDX134 with Acorn because or db25 connectors on both ,but can't figure how to connect com. The PMDX site explains better than I have.
I though could cut wire on ribbon cable and attach to com on Acorn. Not sure how to do it though. If no one has better idea I will use DB25 break out when I find it.
Thanks Richard great pictures I have same problem with lighting in my shop near Controller Box built into machine. I didn't post rest of photos I took of wirering useing screw terminals on Acorn direct to motor drivers, to much shadows. Both you and Marty have simple way out useing db25breakout thats probably what I will do If with extra help can't solve com problem. I just don't want to give up just yet. I'll hook up drives with PMDX134 on bench to show how neat this could be. Photo coming in day or two.
Thanks for all advise much appreciated Guys Harry-O

Re: Motors not turning
Do not use the screw terminals as they are 24 volt and the Geckos can't handle that. Use the DB25 breakout board. I tried the screw terminals on some of my 203 Gecko drives and blew the pull up resister that Gecko replaced for me. they told me that the step and Dir was over powered.

Re: Motors not turning
PMDX 1 Shows PMDX-134 Brd mounted to two G203v drives using mail pins on driver press fit onto bottom of brd with female connector. Terminal biock are removed from g203v drivers to get at pins.Block are used later to attach motor wires to then press fit onto male pins on PMDX 134 Brd. Top R shows J6 terminals to run disable switch wires to. J6 can be used to disable several kids of drivers 201x,214 etc.by Gecko. Below that you see J11 two screws to attach current set resisters, I run full 7 amp to my setups so don't use resisters.Below that is J5 for 48 volt to power motors , only one connection needed . the whole setup only needs 4 wires to brd to run everything plus motor hook up . The rest of the photos show more detail.

Re: Motors not turning
mousecnc Yes I just figured that out after hooking up all four drivers , Gecko sent me some fuse resister. I haven't replaced them yet waiting to figure out the com problem to due all at once. I lost power to shop just after taking pictures. Take Power camp about 3 to 4 hrs to get back. Happen a lot Thanks mousecnc for heads up just a little to slow oh well simple fix thats another good reason I like using Gecko drives excelent support,

Re: Motors not turning
Your board connected to the DB-25 should work

Yes martyscncgarage I have all manuals for all components I've used at shop both hard copy and on thumb drive. You guys will have good laugh on me ,I don't use these forums much other than for reserch , I'm able to figure out things mostly on my own. hers joke I don't know how to post well don't know how you guys respond with text grayed out, how to inbed links its easy i'm sure but never need to do it till now. I'm old school do most thing with phone call and one on one in person. Hard to teach old dog new tricks.
I,ve been checking your site great work you do sharing with community, In my spare time I build toy boxes for vets with kids, thats what i use cnc for, been doing it since desert storm. Before covid shut down I sent out my 87 toy box, all boxes are personalized to each kid. Since 2015 I started to build for kids with cancer. Terrible thing for all concernd. I get lots of joy in seeing pictures of kids when they first get boxes.
