upgrade to v4.5 and VCP error on CNC 12 exit <resolved>
Upgraded to v4.5 and now getting a Windows alert of VCP error when exiting out of CNC 12. This PC has no internet access and does not get any Windows updates. All the VCP buttons work fine other than the error popup on CNC 12 exit.

Are you getting it all the time when you exit or occassionally?skipper616 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 9:14 pm Upgraded to v4.5 and now getting a Windows alert of VCP error when exiting out of CNC 12. Do you have Windows 10 up to date?

The VCP error pop up happens every time on CNC 12 exit. The PC has no internet access so no Windows 10 updates for 12+ months. Should I try updating Windows 10? Thanks

Yes, you should run Windows updates. There were changes made to VCP to try and take into consideration the latest updates.skipper616 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 9:33 am The VCP error pop up happens every time on CNC 12 exit. After running the updates, I only get the error on occasion.

Re: upgrade to v4.5 and VCP error on CNC 12 exit
Absolutely, my CNCPC also does not have constant internet access either but every so often I plug in a USB wifi dongle to make sure windows is up to date. I also used it for TeamViewer a few months ago when Centroid was in my CNCPC when I was helping with a bug in 4.20 for older PC's.
Last I checked my machine 1909 was the current version on it but Windows 10 version 2004 is now available for download/update.

Re: upgrade to v4.5 and VCP error on CNC 12 exit
Good to know Keith, thanks.
My Optiplex CNCPC with a i5-4570 cpu has a single thread rating of 2020 according to cpubenchmark.net and I don't know if that's considered "fast" or not but thankfully I don't see these message ever.
I'm still using win10 version 1909 and haven't upgraded to version 2004 just yet and 4.5 runs flawless.
I just upgraded another CNC machine that I use to 4.5 and it's barely at 1500 benchmark speed and luckily I haven't seen these messages either.

Re: upgrade to v4.5 and VCP error on CNC 12 exit
thats fast single core.. the error message is usually related to a slow overburdened hard drive that is running windows or low ram. not job processing speed of the cpu. please post the CNC PC specs, HD, ram, MB, etc

Re: upgrade to v4.5 and VCP error on CNC 12 exit
Just want to update that no more VCP error on CNC12 exit after I switched the CNC PC to one of these Lenovo M90n minis running Windows 10 rel 1909. This PC is small and should fit in a VESA style monitor mount.
