I updated both the mill and the lathe yesterday with no issues! I like the new VCP and the probing functions.

Great job Centroid, again!

The new editable VCP looks AMAZING and at least as a totally new Acorn/Centroid user, is something that gets me very excited to play with (I mean it's why I chose a DIY system to begin with!). Anyway, kudos on the launch and thanks for always improving the product :)

4.5 installed flawlessly, as usual. Thanks for your hard work Keith! Did you ever film the follow up, second part to the new VCP 2.0 video? If so, can you point me in the right direction? And in the first segment you discussed swapping out the Acorn logo for the Vulcan example. What are the pixle dimensions necessary to take up two, or in this case, three button width? I assume it is more than the sum of the buttons, but was unsure as to the width of the default spacing. I understand that the SVG will scale, but wondered what the proper aspect ratio was.

Thanks,

Shawn

Please see the detailed VCP 2.0 users manual.
https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... manual.pdf

The acorn logo in the stock VCP takes up three button locations. So the aspect ratio is one button high by three buttons wide. So the aspect ratio is 3 to 1. SVGs are scalable of course you can read all about it in the manual above. But a good starting size for logo building in this exact same location is 100 pixels by 300 pixel image. Just like the example in the manual.

Paste Position in MDI
Paste Position in MDI
Hello,

Updated from BETA to Version 4.5 without problem.
However have spotted an issue within the MDI menu with the F2 "Paste Position" command.
The pasted position includes Y and B axis positions.

See attached screen shot.

I have a question about changing default feed rate - I use a metric set up and default is 3mm/min.
I changed to inches and get 3 inches/minute.

Is there a parameter I've missed that sets the default feed rate?

See screen shot.

New VCP is good as are other feature such as positioning of current G & M Codes.

Have updated the Mill software as well and works fine.

Thanks,

Edward

Edward,
thanks for reporting the mdi paste issue, we will check into it

for the feed rate, F command is modal. so the first MDI command you put the feedrate you want on the line, then all subsequent lines will use that value until you change it or escape from MDI mode, same for g code programs.

Hello Keith,
Thank you for your response.
I understand that Feed is modal, just wondering how the F3 is set within CNC12.
Not an issue.
As ever I am impressed by the speed of response.
Best Regards, Edward

I updated my router from 4.20.1 over the weekend to the final release version of 4.5 and all went well. Love the new VCP and finally customizing buttons is here. I spent a few hours removing, rearranging and creating new buttons for my machine and my several custom macros. Love it !!

Great work by the whole team at Centroid.
