4.20 Wizard error on wizard start <updating to v4.20 with a custom home program>

Post by JoeG »

Greetings All,

I upgraded to 4.20 last night, everything went well until I tried to start the wizard. See the attached .png file.

I tried:

1. Uninstall / Reinstall, import the 418 report file, follow the onscreen instructions > same result
2. Uninstall / Reinstall, and not importing my 4.18 report file. Wizard starts. Import 4.18 report, follow on screen instructions > Wizard fails to start

I decided to try to home regardless..... (I copied my homing and tool change macros to 4.20, they may have been copied by the restore.... I failed to check) My mill homed properly and seemed to work correctly (I milled some air as a test).

As far as I can tell it is working normally (with the limited testing I have done so far....)

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Joe

Quick follow up:

As noted in the error message the machine was not in MDI mode or running a job....

Joe, hello. we fixed a bug in the v4.20 Wizard that occurs when a custom home program is in use and is being imported with restore report. the fix is in the beta test phase of 4.20.1, you can PM me if you'd like to try this software out.

there is a work around for 4.20 as well... make a copy of the custom home program put on desktop, open v4.18, and in the wizard set home to "Wizard generated" and "simple home" write settings to CNC control, close and restart CNC12. now in CNC12 make a fresh report.zip. use this report.zip to restore report with the CNC12 v4.20 installation. then open v4.20 Wizard, press update, then go to the homing menu and set the wizard back to "i will create my own home program" and press write settings to CNC control. close wizard, close cnc12, copy the custom home program back into the cncm directory overwriting the file that is there... and start CNC12. that fixes it.

update... more info is here..
