Re: Acorn expansion board
I'm currently wiring up the electrical panel for my Acorn conversion. While the panel is out of the machine, this would be a great time to pre-drill it for the expansion board. Any thoughts on whether it would be safe to use the dimensions in the previously linked document for laying out the screw holes or is that expected to change in the released version?
Thanks for any info.
Pete

Re: Acorn expansion board
dimensions are good in the rev6 draft doc.
I just added the drill templates for Ether1616 and the 8 relay module to the draft doc..refresh...

Re: Acorn expansion board
Will the Ether1616 require its own power supply?
I at the point in my build that I need to make a decision about my cabinet layout and component placement. The machine I am retrofitting has a large 24VDC power supply. Originally I was going to remove it and only using the Meanwell that comes with the Acorn, but I may use the large one instead since it appears that the Ether1616 will need more power than the Meanwell can provide. Thoughts?

Re: Acorn expansion board
Yes, Ether1616 needs its own power supply because of all the relays.
Figure an extra 1.5A@24vdc
IF you don't use all the relays, you might get by with a little less....
