How much backlash do you have?
Yes, you need to correct it if excessive.
Do you have ballscrews or acme leadscrews?
Direct drive or are the servos connected to the screws with pulleys and timing belts?

If you watched my video and followed the manual on calibrating the axis, it should be accurate.
Cut a part and measure it...
----------------------------------------------------
Keith he is using DMM AC Servos
Its a benchtop milling machine.

I didn't catch if he is direct driving the screws or with pulleys.

Hi Marty and Keith

I did the update to v4.18 and I going to send a new report to you too, I need know how I find out how much backlash I have in my machine and how I correct it.
Marty I have AC servos DMM and my servos is connect direct to the screw, I watched lot videos from you and Keith and I learned a lot, thank you guys and all.
I need this machine for now only for engraving may name, address and serial numbers, later I want learn more, I never used a CNC before.
I thinking in buy a engraving software "millwrite" after I have the machine all set for use.
Thank you

Hi Marty
I forgot one thing that my machine do every time I turn the power off, soon I turn the power off in the control box the X and Y move like something hold back, this is normal or I did something wrong? If you want I try make a video about the X and Y.
Tomorrow I going to try find out the backlash in the machine after I post here.
Thank you

Not sure what you are referring to. A video would help.
