I currently am running centroid legacy cnc 10 on my mill....I need to increase usb functionality. What is the best route to go for software upgrade....without upgrading any hardware..

Re: CNC 10
Do you know your control serial number or system ID? Or can you tell us what version of CNC10 you are running?

Re: CNC 10
M10304. Its v1.0
I just upgraded the ram to 2gb
Put a new reader in it.
New 2gb cf card.
I am currently trying to build a new hard drive for it and am having issues with the install. I created a dvd from the iso for v2.72.
Now it gives me errors during the install process.
I am using a win 7 64bit machine with a usb reader to do the upgrade. It boots from my cd/dvd to the usb cf device. I see it installing then i start to see alot of errors. Any ideas?

Re: CNC 10
What type of errors are you getting? Are you saying your flash card reader is connected through USB? Also take a look at TB213 Upgrading to v2.6x+ for a bit more detail on updating.

Re: CNC 10
I have a cf reader that is only usable through a usb on my desk top.
One of the errors is.....searching for ide cdrom device(s)
could not find installation cd......halting system
umount:/cdrom:not mounted
warning: could not determine runlevel-doing soft halt

Re: CNC 10
Is your cd-rom drive connected through SATA or IDE cable? Do you have it set as the first boot device?

Last night I stripped the centroid control and will use it to do the download. Unless its not recommended.

Re: CNC 10
Try setting your SATA to Legacy IDE in the bios. Then see if the CD gets past that point. You can use the original computer without any issues, as always make sure you have a report backed up of your old setup.

Re: CNC 10
That error means that your cnc10m.cfg file is missing or damaged. When you went through the install process what selections did you make? Did you select any type of PLC? Can you copy the CNC files on the card, zip them, and email them to us? You can do that by using a "cp cnc* dir(dir is the directory you want to copy files to, you can choose anything)" command in Linux.
