Currently, the F1/setup, F1/part, F1/next axis ... shows a blank white square for the image on a manual axis
I'd like to change this to something to depict the knee on my mill much the same way as the image of a rotary table appears when the rotary axis is selected.
Is there a specific bmp image for the manual axis? I was able to change the manual axis symbol (c_mmansym.bmp) to reflect the table (last icon, first image) and was hoping I could do the same for the actual setting graphic.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Re: Bitmap Image for manual axis part setup screen
Tom, i usually take a photo, edit it , add letters, arrows etc.. size it correctly, save as .bmp and name it the correct file name and place it in the BMP directory. that way CNC12 will use the image i created to place on the screen etc.. you can use MS "Paint" to do all this or other non free photo programs.

Re: Bitmap Image for manual axis part setup screen
Thanks Keith, that's what I've done in the past, but I can't figure out which filename corresponds with the "blank" image for the manual axis part position setting.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: Bitmap Image for manual axis part setup screen
So, I went ahead and ran procmon after starting up CNC12. Went to part setup and cycled all the way through the axis X, Y, Z, M, and then back to X and I ended up with these file hits:
Unfortunately, it does not look like CNC12 is attempting to open a bitmap for the manual axis graphic so it doesn't look like I'll be able to make a custom one -- unless Centroid decides to add code to support one (wink, wink, hint, hint, nudge, nudge).
Code: Select all
C:\cncm\bmps\mstxctr.bmp
C:\cncm\bmps\mstyctr.bmp
C:\cncm\bmps\mstzpos.bmp
C:\cncm\bmps\mstxctr.bmp
Cheers,
Tom

Re: Bitmap Image for manual axis part setup screen
I've done this in the past with a scale on the knee and put in a custom image.
Please post a report.zip so i can see how you have the manual axis setup.

Re: Bitmap Image for manual axis part setup screen
Keith,
Latest report on the mill I did my testing on. Manual axis is the 7th axis and displays the position from the glass scale on the knee.
