Need to make a dummy code
How would I make a dummy code so software dose no revert back to another loaded code?

Load any file, then press "Edit"
File > Save As > Some Name, I like "~NONE.cnc" (without quotes)
Then select all (CTRL +A) > Delete
Save the blank file, load as needed

Re: Need to make a dummy code
In the next software version you will be able to "check a wizard box" to have a file named No_Job_Loaded" be the default loaded on startup and not the last run. Patience Weedhoppers!

Re: Need to make a dummy code
Gary,
That makes sure the previous program is not loaded at startup. It does nothing to clear the last program out when you are done with it. It's very easy to accidentally hit the cycle start button when you really meant to jog -Z when you are setting up for your next job. It significantly reduces the pucker factor to have a null job loaded whenever you are not actually running a job.

Re: Need to make a dummy code
Seldom do I run the same file twice, so for me, I wish it didn't save the file after it was ran. I'm getting used to (how it is) though. I can see the benefit of a machine shop cranking out the same part one after another and not having to select the file each time.

Re: Need to make a dummy code
You have to load a new file anyway. Are you saying you would rather have CNC12 load a NULL file on each start up? This option is coming.Ken Rychlik wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 11:34 am Seldom do I run the same file twice, so for me, I wish it didn't save the file after it was ran. Re: Need to make a dummy code
Seems like a no brainer safety feature since humans make mistakes. I've wondered about the same thing, it's like having a semi automatic pistol that always has one in the chamber. Sometimes you want to be sure that it's not loaded even though you're taught to treat it like it always is. Just keep your fingers away from the green trigger unless you're ready to go bang lol.
It's nice that Centroid is constantly making improvements, hopefully people other than the beta testers get to use them soon.

Like my momma used to say when she was cooking pancakes: "Want 'em now, or when they are done?"
Centroid (more than some other CNC software developers I have worked for) doesn't seem to put out a version until it is ready. That's a good thing

Re: Need to make a dummy code
Not sure if this is what you're talkin about or not. Or if the acorn software works the way the regular centroid software does. But from the control parameters page if you put jog panel required to yes it will make you hit cycle start twice before the job runs. First Press brings the job up, 2nd press start the job
