intermittent problem solved.....

Post by davidmunson »

My small lathe conversion to acorn has had problems becoming STABLE.

Works one day perfect.... next day the servos only move in one direction....

reboot everything fine.... set up some offsets for tools and next day. one axis won't work..

I reset the limit switches. reset the homing..... Fixed.... next day.... one axis works in one direction.....

I looked for loose wires.... Finally I found it... A little white turn screw on the power supply. I checked the voltage... 4.25 and 22 volts.

Turned the screw up to 5 volts and 24 volts and the problems dissapeared. I assumed it was set from the factory....

David...
As you found while adjusting it, they are pretty sensitive. Being jarred, or a screwdriver slipping off another screw terminal can easily knock them out of adjustment
