Nothing.
Now down to just E-stop on input 8, & NC microswitch on input 1.
Nothing else connected to Acorn, problem is repeatable across two different acorns & related to 1st axis home/limit.

Michael

Put a jumper from common to input 1. Open and close the circuit. Eliminate the microswitch.

No banana,
Set E-Stop to NO & removed it from acorn all together, ran a jumper lead from common to input 1. My hands are a little shaky but input remained tripped when terminal screwed tight. Jumper used bootlace at both ends to ensure connection.

It has to be software related some how as the problem goes away when the same input is set to 2nd Axis HomeLimit.
I will take board to work to try on fresh PC.

Michael

I would save a report to a USB memory stick and or a separate directory on CNCPC's drive to have a copy of the machines configuration. Please post a copy of that report. I'd like to load it on my bench test Acorn

Then I would open the Wizard, click on the Benchtest radio button, write that configuration and then only configure input 1 and work with it for testing.

Also make sure the 24vdc jumper is electrically sound and is tight that feeds 24vdc to the input terminal block. (Just checking the basics)

I don't think this is PC/software related.

Thanks Marty,
That's what I have been doing.
Same result with just an 18AWG boot-laced jumper wire.
My hands are a little shaky so I went back to standard micro switch to have better control over trip signal.
This is off a new PC & a fresh Acorn I opened out of the box yesterday.
Wizard reset, E-Stop set to NO, just one input configured. Report Below.

The reports of my system initially are on page 1 of thread.

Reset System in diagnostic page - input 1 all clear.
reset.jpg
Trip micro switch diag shows input 1 tripped.
trip.jpg
Switch released diag shows input 1 released, system window shows X+ Limit tripped.
trip-rel.jpg
This is repeatable over multiple Acorns & multiple PC's.
Repeatable for FirstAxisHomeLimit, FirstAxisMinusLimit, FirstAxisPlusLimit, LimAll.
If I change Input1 to SecondAxisHomeLimit, Move X to Axis 2 the problem goes away.
move x to axis2.jpg
Interestingly when Input1 set to LimAll you can see X Limit, Y Limit & Z Limit Clear then X Limit immediately re trip.

Michael.
FIRST, I was able to recreate your problem. It is an issue with the software. It has been reported.

YOu are NOT using HomeALL Correct? You are using First Axis Home/Limit OK:
FirstAxisHomeLimitOK.JPG

HOWEVER:

I took your latest report and tried to load it on my bench test rig. No Joy. I get errors. Can't Open Setup file and when I try to run the Wizard I get a "Root Element Missing"

First, do you have screen shots of your machines Wizard pages? If not restore your latest report from when your machine was working and use Windows 10 snipping tool (just type SNIPPING TOOL in the windows search box) and take and save screen shots from each of your Wizard pages.
Also save all your G code programs that are on your CNC PC

Then,
Go to Windows CONTROL PANEL (type it in the Windows Search Box)
Then click UNINSTALL A PROGRAM
Look for CNC12
Click it and UNINSTALL IT
Uninstall EVERYTHING
Once that is complete,
Using Windows FILE EXPLORER, navigate to CNCM directory and DELETE IT.

Go to Centroid's ACORN Resource page and download a fresh copy of CNC12
http://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_diy ... oller.html
Not quite half way down the page

Unzip it to a folder on your desktop,
Have your Acorn Powered up and connected to the CNC PC
DO NOT RUN SETUP AND INSTALL OVER THE TOP OF THE EXISTING CNCM DIRECTORY MAKE SURE THAT DIRECTORY HAS BEEN DELETED!!

Once the setup has completed, the Wizard should start.
Set Input 1 to HOMEALL until this issue is resolved:
Homeall.JPG
Please series your limit switches in the cabinet, tie one end to COM and the other end to Input 1

Hand key in the rest of your machine parameters using the screen shots saved. Be sure to write settings. Again, please series your home limit switches and use the HOMEALL feature on input 1

Marty,
I was using FirstAxisHomeLimitOK.
Thankyou for responding back, I am glad you found it as I was starting to go a little crazy.
Please not that the error goes away if I change input to 2nd or 3rd Axis - related to limits. Only 1st axis regardless of its designation (X,Y or Z) or LimAll.

I Uninstalled CNC12, did a shift+delete CNCM.
Reboot.
Fresh download of CNC12.
Re-keyed in just Input 1.
Same result, please see below report & backup files. Also snipped all the wizard screens & repeat of error with diagnostics page.
