Hi:
When I price servos on other sites, the Centroid prices seem to be 2 or 3 times higher.
Is there something "special" about Centroid servos?
Thanks,
Lawrence

If you know where we can buy good quality 29 in-lb NEMA 42 servo motors for $350, please share.

NEMA 23 and 34Centroid Servos vs others re price
Hi:
I did not price NEMA 42 Servos.
Keiling has NEMA 23's for $59.95 to %79.95 and
NEMA 34's for $ 119 to $ 139.
Sorry not to be more clear.

Re: Centroid Servos vs others re price
Not sure about the smaller units but the larger NEMA 42 motors seem to be fairly priced as far as that class of motor is concerned. You should also remember that the AJAX motors come with a high quality encoder which sells for $155. Servo motors are like everything else you buy. Spending more money is no guarantee of quality but cheaping out is likely gonna mean a lack of it. AJAX & CENTROID sell industrial rated products so likely the motors are a cut above the standard "cheapo" pieces aimed at the hobby market. Another thing to remember is that the AJAX motors are spec'd to match their controllers so likely will provide better performance. I believe at least the larger motors are made in the USA or UK! I have original UK built servos on my EXCELLO mill and they still work some 30 years after install!
Just my 2 cents worth and crossing my fingers I don't have to buy new 29 in/lb motors for a while
