Centroid Wireless MPG

Post by rickwjenn »

Got the Centroid Wireless MPG for the Acorn and highly recommended it. Install was very easy with only issue the need to reboot Windows 10 as it was unidirectional communication only until reboot. Highly recommend this tool.

The 1X jog is great for finding edges and part zero. It was a really challenge from the PC with a mouse....

Used the MPG right way to align my vise with x axis and find/fix a bit of sag in the head that was showing up on parallel fact cuts.

While I am learning Fusion 360, I wrote a simple G code program, loaded it in CNC 12, used the MPG to set Part Zero and started a test piece for a steering actuator clamp (2.5" diameter) I am going to make for my dad's 58 Chevy truck street rod.

The MPG is invaluable and money well spent! The one thing I wish it could do is jog at an adjustable but steady rate. For quick manual work, like facing a piece of stock, you need to crank the dial. The smoother you can do that, the nicer the finish. Not sure if there’s any way to make this happen?

Really? You mean all this time I’ve been doing it the hard way? How do you adjust the feed rate? Will this just be your set fast/slow jog speeds? I’m not home right now so can’t check myself but I’m dying to know.

How do you adjust the feed rate? With selector set to feed then use the mpg wheel

Will this just be your set fast/slow jog speeds? For the "+" & "-" keys, whichever is currently active on the VCP
