Update:
E-Stop & limit switches working.
HomeAll limit switches working.
I struggle going from schematics to actual wiring, so I learned a bit on how to use terminal blocks more effectively.
Hopefully it sticks for a while...
Next Steps:
Get all the components and wiring off the bench and into a box or boxes.
There's a nice metal box on the back of the machine, but I don't think everything will fit inside.
I'll probably have to get an additional enclosure.
Once I start laying things out, the separation should become clear....
Questions:
Spindle
The spindle motor has a 6700 max RPM, but there is a 70% reduction in the belt/cog system --> 4690 RPM
In trying to set the signal isolator limits, I had the spindle over 6000 RPM.
Should I just stick with the 4690 target or try and get all the RPM that I can??
How do you determine the minimum speed of the spindle?
At 500 RPM it seems to still have decent torque, but at 250 it's pretty bad, can be stopped by hand.
Power draw bar
The power draw bar is a simple lever operated by a pneumatic cylinder, 2 lines, 1 top, 1 bottom.
I'm guessing a simple, non-electrical, switch can be added to apply air pressure for tool release.
Any suggestions on the right component for the job?
Home position
Attached is a pic of my axis config page.
Home is currently in the physical position I'd prefer, table is X = operator left; Y = nearest operator, but I think the DRO is not reading as I expect, it's (0,0,0)
I'd like it to read (12.1, 6.1, 0) in this physical position.
That way it matches the traditional Cartesian coordinate system from geometry class

It seems like it should be an easy change, but I'm missing something.
Thanks All !!
