How to match up Pro License files with Acorn boards
Now that several users have multiple Acorn installations we've been asked whats the best way to match up a License file with the corresponding Acorn board. Here is how.
The license.dat file will have a filename that contains the Acorn serial number like this one.
license-Hugh-B0D5CC536E0C-1024170186-pro-mill.dat
the last digits 0186 is the Acorn serial number. this is displayed on the screen and here is an example of the Acorn serial that is displayed on the CNC12 F1 setup screen.
the cnc12 screen show the system is 0094, this acorn # 94 so it would require a license file that matches.
like so.. license-985DAD489F1F-0823170094-pro-mill.dat
A report.zip file also contains the Acorn serial number and the date the report was created.

Re: How to match up Pro License files with Acorn boards
I am a little confused what I should do with the License .dat file. Do I install it in the CNC12 folder like is done with mach3? I’ve watched all the videos and either I missed that part trying to follow along or it wasn’t there. Doing a search here and it brought me to this post. Thank you.

the instructions to install the license are included in the email with the license..
here is a copy.
Acorn License Installation Instructions:
1) Save the attached license.dat file on the CNCPC desktop.
2) With Acorn powered up and running, Start the CNC12 software.
3) Press "F7" Utility menu.
4) Choose the "F8" Option menu.
5) Choose the "F2" Import Unlocks function. This will open a file dialog. Navigate to the desktop (or the location where the license file attachment was saved) and select the license.dat file. Click "Open". CNC12 will then respond with a message stating that the license was successfully imported.

Thank you. I did eventually find it however it had printed out with the text over lapping atop it all so it was a bit garbled to make any sense of it. I appreciate the post.

Re: How to match up Pro License files with Acorn boards
Oddly I imported both my License files and it is still stating it is the free acorn version and not the pro bundle. I’ve also closed and restarted the program to verify it. Went and tried the process again and each time it states successfully imported License.

Appears to be the correct version. Digitizing bundle isn’t accessible either however it did accept the license.

send a fresh report.zip file to diysales@centroidcnc.com and ask for a new license file.

Re: How to match up Pro License files with Acorn boards
I sent a report file via email. What is very odd I would get the digital bundle installed or the mill pro and then add the other and it would resort back to free and not accept either back in. Eventually I did get the bundle in and left it afte jiggling between two copies in different folders. It was like it saw one as no good so I had to resort to the other. Nancy sent me two mill pro and a digitizing bundle. Do I even need the mill pro bundle with digitizing bundle? I sent a message along with file I’m having an issue with input 2 where there is a compile error occurring if I implement it in the software. See what you think.

Re: How to match up Pro License files with Acorn boards
all the features of mill pro are included in the Digitizing bundle..so no you don't need the Mill Pro license.
sounds like you received license files for another Acorn serial number or the license file was corrupt.
