Guy Im having issues with my huanyang 2.2kw vfd and spindle.
I can turn on/off the vfd via acorn and co trol the speed via the analog. However, i have issues with the speed where its so erratic to the point it can vary as much as 6k rpm sometimes while most of the time its in the range of 1-2k.
The wire im using is a cat6e shielded using 4 wires (two pairs) on each side of the analog. On top of that i have it inside a metal conduit. Both the conduit and cat6e wires are grounded on the acorn end (not looped).
I have also placed the wires of for the spindle (U,V,W) inside a metal conduit for and grounded as well. The VFD is also grounded.
Its been as bad like running 24k rpm then suddenly drops to like 4k rpm (minimum speed iv set mine) though that doesnt happen often.
Any thoughts? Would a snubber or something work at the vfd end? I really do think its a noise issue esp when the spindle is loaded.

Re: Huanyang VFD erratic spindle speed
Tho not quite as extreme, I experienced the same untill I used 18awg wires for the 0-10v signal

Hey Gary
The cat6e is supposedly “awg 24” and using 4 wires should total to an equivalent awg18 wire. Anyway, i will try what you did and hopefully might work for me too <fingers crossed>.

Re: Huanyang VFD erratic spindle speed
I noticed variable speed (not as much) when I moved my wires closer to my 220V feed wiring. Ensure they are kept away. Are they properly shielded (ie, wrap around shielding, despite what the spec says)?
Can you measure the voltage and keep track of it (0-10V)? Does the voltage fluctuate?

Yes, 18awg, shielded twisted pair is best....connenct ONE end of the shield drain wire to ONE common ground tie point
I too have noticed the issue with small wire for the Analog signal inputs to VFD.
