Machine Stopping Mid Program! <flaky limits and bad coms>

Post by Malachilee »

Hello everyone,

I've recently started experiencing issues with my Acorn system. While running a program, it abruptly ended right before the next tool change of the program. Shortly after, I noticed a 452 Ethernet communication error.

I double-checked my wiring and ran the PC tuner, but that attempt failed. After restarting everything, I ran the PC tuner again, and it passed this time with no 452 error message. However, when I tried to run the program again, it stopped mid-cut.

I've attached some images for reference. If anyone has insights on what might be happening, I would greatly appreciate your help!

Also, does anyone know why my tool height offsets never match my tool numbers in the G-code? Is this a post-processor thing?

The bottom image is the display right after it stopped mid-cut.

Thank you,
Lee

I did run a stress test, and it passed after rebooting everything. However, that was before I ran this program the last time.

If you can post the g-code file, we can tell for sure, but my guess is that tool 1 is actually in the spindle and the N60 T2 line is just preloading the the next tool. This is useful on machines equipped with dual fork toolchangers so the next tool can be staged in the toolchanger.
Cheers,

Tom

Yes, this could be the tool preload option in the fusion PP.

Just uncheck this option and fusion will not output preload in the g-code

I'm not sure if just attaching the file is the way to do it, but here is my G-code.

Yes, it's just preloading the next tool number.

Awesome! Thank you for clearing that up. It has always worked fine, but that offset not matching has always bothered me.
