Acorn 5.3 uprgade from 4.8 help with Tool Touch Off! <resolved>

A rack mount ATC is a piece of cake with the new software. What ATC spindle do you have?

I don't have an ATC spindle yet, I was waiting for a manageable software approach before doing the upgrade.

I will want a spindle in the 6 hp range as that's what my current spindle is now and I like it!
It's and HSD and it does a great job
The gantry only has 8" of clearance on this machine so I plan to do some more research to find the most compact setup
Any recommendations?

I also have own production cnc that has 14" clearance so I'm aware of the limitations on the smaller machine.
But I use the smaller machine often largely because the acorn controller is just easy and simple to get moving

Setting up an ATC with the latest Acorn software is a piece of cake. The most time consuming parts is programming the tool locations. I tend to be over precise on the locations so it takes a little time to be exact.

Spindle recommendation? HSD all the way.
