Hickory not recording Stats correctly

Post by tblough »

I just checked the stats on my Hickory equipped lathe that's been in use for around 11 months, and it is reporting the following stats:

Code: Select all

Power On : 000024.609
Job in Progress : 000000.027
Spindle Running : 000005.110
Since : 00/00/0
The Allin1DC mill I have that was installed at the same time is showing:

I know that both machines have seen about the same amount of use, so I'm wondering what could make the hours on the lathe are incorrect, and why there is no startup date?

Because Hickory does not allow the CNC12 software to be updated in place, the hour meters reset to zero every time you install a new CNC12 software version.

To maintain your hour meters, you have to manually copy the "mt.stats" file from your (renamed) previous installation directory, or from the urf.zip file within your last report*.zip file.

That is evidently just one more part of the "easy-peasy 15-minute software upgrade".

Marc, I think it's more than that. I have not updated software on that machine since it was installed and a I know I have more than 0.027 hours of program run time in the intervening year.

Wouldn't "Since" then reflect the last install date and not 00/00/0 as well?

Interesting. I look forward to seeing what someone from Centroid has to say about it.

As you're running CNC12 v5.10 I would recommend installing v5.30 to see if it's still an issue.
