Hi everyone! I’m new to the forum and I’m hoping to get some guidance. I’m currently retrofitting my Morbidelli N50 CNC with a Centroid Acorn controller, and I’m having some trouble with the setup and troubleshooting process.
I’ve attached a photo of the drivers I’m using for the X, Y, and Z axes. They’re Yaskawa servo drives, and I’m trying to figure out how to properly connect them to the Acorn. I’m specifically struggling with wiring the encoder feedback and ensuring all signals are set up correctly.
I’d really appreciate any advice or tips from those who have experience with this kind of retrofit. Thanks so much in advance!

Re: Seeking Help with Merging Acorn Controller with Morbidelli N50 CNC
Hello, and welcome to the forums.
First and foremost, you have the Mechatrolink variant of the drives. Those will not work with Acorn or our other controllers. To reuse the motors, you would need to swap them out for analog/pulse input models. Your drives are SGDV-1R9D11A but you need SGDV-1R9D01A to communicate with the Acorn.
If you are using the 4 axis Acorn, you would not have encoder feedback going anywhere other than the drives. It looks like the encoders are already wired to the drives.
As far as wiring Sigma 5 analog/pulse input drives to Acorn, we have schematic S14968 that shows the connections between drive and controller.
