If I get the Centroid Acorn for plasma do I have to get and use their closed loop thc system?
The reason I ask is because its going to be a bit of money to convert everything from Mach 3 and I have the proma thc right now.
I do want to get their THC eventually.

Re: THC
The Acorn Control is not setup to take up/down movement commands via the I/o input.
I have seen Proma THC's working with centroid controls before.
From what I saw they were kind of stand a lone and heavily modified with custom PlC's and macros.
From what it looked like the Z axis and Proma was a separate system that received a control output command when to touch off and sent back to the control when to start X and Y motion. Then received a command to retract.
It's possible but I can't imagine the time and effort would be worth it. As far as I know there's no step by step guide and would take a lot of trial and error.

Re: THC
Thank you took me a while to find that answer lol.
One more question if you know it. When you get ready to buy the centroid THC it gives you options on what plasma machine you have, mine is the
Everlast powerplasma 80s and I can select that option, but what if I were to buy a used one from someone not knowing which plasma it was set for, can I still make it work?

Re: THC
When ordering the THC kit, the selection of plasma unit mainly decides which cable we send. There is no difference between the THC boards for different plasma box choices. It also goes into our records so we can more easily provide support by already knowing what devices are in your system.AWFAB wrote: ↑Sun Jun 22, 2025 9:00 pm Thank you took me a while to find that answer lol.

In short, you can buy a used THC kit but you may have to make your own cable.

Re: THC
Thank you! I have it all running and cutting metal with the acorn, just no THC yet, Mach3 is history!
