Re: Mist Coolant
You only wire ONE of the wires on the solenoid through the relay. You don’t get any power out of the relay by itself when it latches. Did you read my previous post on how to wire the solenoid?cclark wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 9:03 pm I have tried all these and have tried 2 different brands of valves. Green light is on the board and can hear it engage. But cannot get power out. Checking power with my voltmeter and nothing, even checking at the ends of the wires even before connecting to the valve. I am referring to drawing S15010.
Being just 2 wires there is only 4 ways that it could be wire to the board and I have tried all 4 ways. The first way I tried was with the black common in the center and the hot to the left since my valve is NC.

Re: Mist Coolant
richardb15, tried that the other day and was not getting any readings. So now I am wonder if the relay is fried.

Re: Mist Coolant
ShawnM, only one wire to the relay? Where does the other wire go? I looked on the schematics and don't see anything> Can you give a link to your post about wiring the solenoid?

Centroid also posted an updated link to a schematic a few posts back.

Re: Mist Coolant
ShawnM, your post to me was not very helpful if both wires do not go to the relay, where does the second wire go? Even looking at any of the drawings to me both go to the relay. The common to the center and the other to either NC or NO side. I turned on all the relays and checked each one with my voltmeter and none are giving any readings. I hooked my solenoid directly up to my 24v source and the solenoid itself works.

Re: Mist Coolant
There is NO power that comes out of those relays. It’s simply a switch that switches voltage or ground depending on how you wire it. I explained where both wires go and don’t know how to be more clear. I’ll see if I can find you a diagram or draw one and post it here.

ShawnM
Just went back and read the thread again, I guess I miss this line. Apply 24 volts to the common pole of the number 8 relay. So, I take it I need to add a wire giving 24 volts to the relay. Will try that tomorrow.

Re: Mist Coolant
Yes, that is what you are "switching" with the relay. 24 volts to the common terminal, one wire of the solenoid to the NO side of the relay and then ground the other lead on your solenoid. Activating relay 8 will connect the 24 volts on the common leg of the relay to the NO side of the relay where your solenoid wire is.
