Hi all,

Attached is a link to my semoreg service manual that I will be attempting to communicate to with a planed Centroid upgrade.
The manual is all in German however I think from what I can decipher from it looks like to me that I would have to connect to terminal #A1:56 on the dc drive for the control signal, the drawing that shows that terminal is on page #010 of the block diagram left hand edge of the sheet. Can anyone here on this forum verify that?

Thank you

Yes, those diagrams, as far as I can decipher using the helpful translation tables, show that you should connect the terminal A1:56 to the analog output terminal of the Centroid control.

A1:14 should be the negative reference, I.E. connect to the Analog GND/COM terminal of the Centroid control.

A1:70 is where the shield of the cable between the two devices should be connected.

Pages 15A, 16, and 17 show a simplified schematic of the speed controller board.

Hi Guys,
I Have a tree Lathe as well and am putting a allin 1 DC controller in it and am trying to use the same Siemens spindle power supply.
I was told by Siemens to put 0 -10 volts to pins 56 and 14 and to change rotation direction reverse the polarity .
dose the polarity change on the Allin 1 Dac com and dac out when a rotation change is commanded ?
The old controller did that so there are only the 2 controll wires.
Thanks
Erich

Re: NEW HERE (Siemens spindle drive, bipolar analog)

If you use the attached PLC program, you can get a bipolar speed and direction signal from the Allin1DC.

Wire the "run" signal directly from OUT7, bypassing the OUT8 relay altogether.

Later, if you need OUT8 for some other purpose, you can move the "SpindleDirectionOut" assignment to some other bit (e.g. an unused memory bit).

For a bipolar analog signal, with the attached PLC program, you also need to:
1) Set Parameter 178 = 4
2) Toggle the Allin1DC DAC output DIP switches to the "-10 to 10" pattern, as shown on page 7 of the attached manual.
