452 Communication Errors, TB270 done, errors still there SOLVED

Hey guys,

i have probs with 452 communication errors.

So i dismounted the acorn and its power supply from the cabinet completely and connected it alone, with the original cables, directly to the PC.
Started stresstest.cnc from cnct\ncfiles and got over 240 packets resent!

I attached a report-file.

Then i went all through the TechnicalBulletin 270 and double and triple checked everything there to solve that issues, but the problems still persist.
Windows Update is done, even double-checked the driver with the original one from intel, still there.
Deactivated Win10Firewall and -Antivirus completely, problems still there.
CPU Benchmark single thread gives 2273 points, shouldn't be a problem, either:
CPU-Screenshot.png
PC is a Lenovo Thinkcentre M910z with Touchscreen. This is an all-in-one with standard PC-parts in it, standard mainboard, drives and so on, only everything packed in one housing behind the screen.

Now i don't know what i could do further...?
Can anyone help me here?
How can i get this sorted out?

Thank you very much in advance,

Marc

Check the LAN driver at the Intel website and let it auto detect

Uninstall the Antivirus

Try another shielded CAT 5e LAN cable

I already did that, I got that driver from intel directly. Here is what i've done:

In the device-manager I checked the hardware-ID of the ethernet-connection, went to pcilookup.com and searched there, found this:
https://www.pcilookup.com/?ven=8086&dev ... ion=submit

Googled that name then, clicked first link from intel (with showed the correct driver):
https://www.intel.de/content/www/de/de/ ... loads.html

Then downloaded the Intel® Network Adapter Driver for Windows® 10 from there (wired_driver_27.4_x64.zip)

Then installed it, the installer did an autodetect again and then finished the installation.
Should be correct, i think?

Anyway, exactly this driver has been installed before by windows-update, too.

Antivirus can't be uninstalled i suppose? It's that built-in Win10Pro-Antivirus, but i completely deactivated everything regarding antivirus und firewall.
AND, just to be sure, before that i went through all the changes mentioned in the TB270, too.

Also tried a cat7 s-FTP-Cable and two Cat5e-cables, still the same problems.

BAM, got it!

It was the setting "Speed and Duplex" in Device Manager -> Network-adapter -> advanced settings -> 10. from top (it's german here, so i can't tell you what it is called in english, exactly.

It was set so "automatic", that didn't work.
Set it to 100MBit/s full-duplex, that delivered 2800 resent packages^^

Now i set it to 100MBit/s half-duplex, and the stresstest.cnc passed without errors :-)

Uwe
Definitely!
That was the first thing i thought, when the centroid-stresstest said "PASSED!": But ... how much resends now?

Thanks for your version of the stresstest, Uwe!

This setting removed the last glitch I had with resends. Now I can power cycle the Acorn without power cycling the PC also.

Some other settings as deactivating ARP download ect. got my system running at least when Acorn was powered up before the PC.

Interesting that the small and fast settings were more likely the solution than spending hours of finding and eliminating noise

But the stresstest in the BETA3 is a great tool to fix the resends fast.

Yes, very helpful tool, should be mentioned in the setup-windows-for-cnc-use-manual or the benchtest-manual, too!

I did the benchtest, with the same PC and settings, and everything seemed fine back then.
I neither knew what to look for, nor that there could be a problem at all.

I'm pretty sure the resends already occured there, but i just didn't notice them or even had a look for that.
Would have saved me the dismounting of the acorn :D

In Win10 Pro it's under "Speed & Duplex" in the advanced tab for your network card. The default is "auto negotiation". The drop down box under "Value" is where you can change the value to 100 Mbps full or half duplex if it helps you.
