We're looking at Kollmorgen, Beckhoff, AB or Parker drives for the next set of retrofits, but none of them offer step and direction modes (in our size, >7.5kw, anyway) leaving us with OAK in analog modes. However, it seems where these drive manufacturers are going, is we won't have *any* analog options past mid 2024 (with AB discontinuing analog on Kinetix as of July 2024), completely eliminating centroid as solution. We have 11 more machines to retrofit over the next two years; Siemens has always been an option (which we have to do for our 5+ axis machines), but the $30k vs $90k price tag adds up pretty quickly and if we're using Siemens drives, well, we're probably going to use Sinumerik one. Is there good news on the horizon for us? Will Hickory have a standard Ethercat, Profi or CanOpen implementation by then? Is it even a standard or is this a customized per drive kind of situation? Can customers pay centroid to develop say, Ethercat for Kollmorgen? What's the inside scoop here?

no plans for dead protocols such as Profi, CanOpen with Hickory.

Send us the Koomorgen drive, motor and cable and we will test and develop the ecat profile and send back to you.

I don't believe I've seen it mentioned, which Inovance servos are being tested currently?

I was wondering is there is any update about the Leadshine drive testing?

EL7 is running ok on the bench.
EL8 is showing discontinuities in the error plot like it is losing position. However, it ran for 2 days and the motor shaft returned to the starting point. so we are still investigating this plot anomaly.

+1 vote for the Delta ASDA-A2 series. I can't finance testing, but I'd buy 3 controllers in a heartbeat!
