Help... Let Me In!

Post by RJS100 »

A short while ago, I had a problem running CNC12. A nice tech support person provided me with a link to download a beta version. Problem solved... and life was good! I discussed the fact that there was a warning that this beta version would expire shortly. I was told not to worry as this was more of a warning, but not really enforced. I was told to install version 5.08 as it was about to be released.

I saw that 5.08 was released, but the 64 bit version was still being tested. I think I am running a 64 bit version currently (not positive) and thought I should wait a bit longer and install the final 64 bit 5.08 version.

Today I attempted to run CNC12 and got a warning that the beta had expired, and it will no longer run at all. Is there some way to get it running so I can take screen shots of the wizard pages etc. and upgrade? Ultimately, I would prefer to wait and install the 64 bit version of 5.08.

Thanks... Richard

both the 64 and 32 bit versions of v5.08 are NOT Betas and do not have the count down timer.

go install v5.08 (which ever one you want to use) and get off the beta software is my advice.

installation steps.

- open current version Wizard press CTRL P, save as PDF, close CNC12 and Wizard
- Download and run Centroid CNC PC Tuner
- Download and run the v5.08 installer
- open the wizard , use the PDF as a reference to reset the Wizard to the same configuration. press write settings to CNC control. follow instructions.

Thanks for pointing out that the 64 bit version is good to go! I will install shortly. Just curious... If I had previously prepared Windows and settings previously to run CNC12, what is the reason to run the tuner software now.

Thanks... Richard

I am going to be back in town in few days and plan on installing the latest 5.08. I was looking at my notes from the last install and wanted to clarify You noted:

installation steps:
- open current version Wizard press CTRL P, save as PDF, close CNC12 and Wizard
- Download and run Centroid CNC PC Tuner
- Download and run the v5.08 installer
- open the wizard , use the PDF as a reference to reset the Wizard to the same configuration. press write settings to CNC control. follow instructions.

I also have notes to:
- copy the old MPG files from the cncm\system
-tool library is in the cncm directory. so after you get the new cnc12 install up and running simply copy over the old tool library to the new cncm directory and restart cnc12 and your old tool library will automagically appear in the new installation.
cncm.ol "offset library"
cncm.tl "tool library''
copy both of these files from the old cncm to the new one
same with
cncm.wcs (this is the work coordinate positions data file)

-Do the color picker themes need to be copied from somewhere? I think cncm/resources/colors?
-Also, do I need to install the Swissi probe app again? Anything special here?
-Do I need to set any custom parameters? Can you run a report to see if any parameters have been changed from the stock settings? I think I have parameter 4=26
 -Am I missing anything else?

Thanks... Richard
